VA offering caregiver support services

The Veteran’s Administration has just begun promoting its newly enhanced caregiver support services, and are especially targeting their information campaign at post 9-11 vets. But the program is for veterans of all eras.

Some of the services offered to people (including family members) who care for veterans include:

  • In-Home and Community Based Care
  • Respite Care
  • Caregiver education and training programs
  • Caregiver support groups and other services
  • Other services: VA provides durable medical equipment and prosthetic and sensory aides to improve function, financial assistance with home modification to improve access and mobility, and transportation assistance for some Veterans to and from medical appointments.
